
Hardy van de Ven
Hardy van de Ven is a researcher at Healthy Living & Work, TNO (applied sciences the Netherlands). He holds a MSc in Industrial Engineering & Management and a PhD in Health Sciences. He has been working on a wide variety of topics, both scientific and practical, all aiming to support sustainable employability of workers.
One of his current tasks is coordinating the Monitoring of Labor Programme of TNO. In this programme TNO investigates the working conditions, health, productivity, innovative power and sustainable employability of working people in the Netherlands by means of large scale and representative surveys among employees, self-employed and employers. These surveys are the basis for informing policy makers, employers, employees, in-depth analyses and practical tooling.
In this session he will give an overview of sickness absence in the Netherland; prevalence, risk groups, risk factors and costs, with special attention on the link with a clean working environment.
