The innovation shortlist: Equipment edition

We’re back with a new edition of our innovation shortlist blog series, where we preview some of this year’s most relevant product segments at Interclean Amsterdam, the place where the professional cleaning industry comes together to exchange ideas, showcase innovation and set direction.

The Equipment segment includes everything from everyday essentials such as mops, cloths, and trolleys to specialised applications, including pest control, car wash solutions, and on-premises laundry. It spans Halls 1, 2, 5, 7, and 8, making it one of the show’s most extensive and diverse areas.

The highlights below offer just a glimpse of what this segment has to offer. Read on for Nordisk Microfiber and Flash, two distinct innovations contributing to the discussion on improving cleaning processes and addressing real operational challenges.

Nordisk Microfiber: A circular approach to microfiber

Many organisations continue to prioritise sustainable practices, equipment selection, and resource management in cleaning. Manufacturers face growing pressure to optimise product performance while also considering the end-of-life impact of their products.

Nordisk Microfiber responds to this need with its Take Back by NMF return system, a solution designed to tackle the issue of waste generated by used microfiber mops and cloths. “The take-back system keeps used Swan-labelled microfiber cloths and mops in a circular flow, extending material life instead of ending as waste,” says Rune Sejten, owner and Director of Nordisk Microfiber.

At Interclean Amsterdam, you can explore the return system through a visual presentation on the stand. The company invites visitors to Hall 7, Stand 07.402 to learn more about the company’s long-standing focus on high quality microfiber cleaning tools and how its approach continues to evolve.

Flash: Next-level cleaning through single-use solutions

In professional cleaning, time constraints and hygiene standards often conflict. Limited cleaning windows, staff shortages, and elevated infection control expectations reduce margins for error. Under these conditions, intricate procedures and reusable processes can raise operational stress and cross-contamination risks if not executed with strict consistency.

Flash addresses these issues with single-use, nonwoven cleaning products that aim to simplify workflows while maintaining high cleaning standards.

Single-use products eliminate preparation and reprocessing steps like laundering and redistribution, reducing handling complexity and accelerating daily cleaning routines. Our products save significant handling time and therefore money,” says Harrie Dekkers, Flash.

At the show, Flash will highlight products such as the Wet2Go READY mop and the Vegatex dust cloth, a 100% plant-based alternative that reflects ongoing material innovation within the single-use category. Recent developments also include recyclable materials, signalling how efficiency-driven cleaning solutions are adapting to evolving sustainability expectations.
