The innovation shortlist: Data & Digital edition
Interclean Amsterdam returns from 14–17 April 2026, bringing together innovation, expertise and the connections behind the latest, smartest developments in professional cleaning. This year’s show spans eight distinct and dynamic segments, offering visitors a structured way to explore how the industry is evolving. To highlight some of the newest innovations and the thinking shaping them, we’re launching a blog series offering readers a preview of each product segment and what to expect. Across the venue, attendees can look forward to product demonstrations, industry talks and opportunities to connect with peers and suppliers. In this first edition, we turn our attention to one of the fastest-moving areas of the industry: Data & Digital.
Located in Hall 5, the Data & Digital segment showcases solutions that support mobile computing, smart devices and wireless technologies, all essential for managing today’s complex, data-rich cleaning environments.
Below, we highlight just a few of the many exciting innovations that will be on show in this segment.
ToolSense: The visibility gap in modern cleaning operations
As cleaning and facility management become more complex, organisations handle diverse equipment like machines, vehicles, tools, and robots, each generating data for oversight. However, this fragmentation leads to more downtime, higher costs, and staff stress. As Alexander Manafis, CEO of ToolSense, explains: “For facility managers, it usually comes down to three things: keeping people safe, running operations efficiently, and staying in control of costs.”
ToolSense improves visibility and simplifies data consolidation from various equipment types into a single view, enabling teams to make better, safer, and more efficient operational decisions. At Interclean, visitors can explore RoboHub, the new vendor-agnostic API hub add-on to ToolSense’s platform for managing robotic cleaning equipment and vehicles from multiple manufacturers in a single system. While businesses often require custom integrations, RoboHub eliminates that barrier and creates “a single, consistent source of truth across increasingly complex operations,” as Manafi states.
Kiehl: Digital support for cleaning teams on the ground
An additional innovation to watch in the Data & Digital sector is Kiehl's new app. Created by the German cleaning and hygiene solutions provider Johannes Kiehl, the app aims to assist on-site cleaning staff by providing straightforward access to product details and correct application instructions at the moment of use.
As Annina Bouillon, Marketing and Communication Manager at Kiehl Group, elaborates: “Cleaning teams need support where the work actually happens. Digital tools help translate training into day-to-day practice, giving staff clarity and confidence in their tasks.”
At Interclean Amsterdam, Kiehl will showcase the KIEHL Bot, demonstrating how cleaning professionals can quickly find product information and application guidance during their daily tasks. The demonstration will highlight quick access to information, multilingual support and consistent application guidance across different teams and working environments.

A new initiative for Interclean Amsterdam 2026: The AI Tournament
As part of Interclean Amsterdam’s immersive trade show experience, The AI Tournament is a new initiative offering visitors a fresh way to engage with emerging technologies and the conversations shaping the future of professional cleaning.
Bringing together visitors and AI students, the format explores how artificial intelligence could shape the future of the cleaning industry. “With AI Gems, we want to create a space where visitors don’t just talk about AI but actively explore what it could mean for the future of cleaning together,” Dirk Tuip, Founder and CEO of FacilityApps, explains.
The initiative also incorporates a hackathon-style format, hosted by the Facility Data Standard (FDS) organisation, with a strong focus on data, standards and the role of AI in cleaning machinery and operations.
“AI is developing at a pace that’s hard to ignore,” says Peter Hug, European Board Member at FDS. “This hackathon is about looking ahead and exploring how our industry can adapt and innovate in response,” he adds.
