Professor Didier Pittet is the Hospital Epidemiologist & Director of the Infection Control Programme and World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Patient Safety, University of Geneva Hospitals & Faculty of Medicine, Geneva, Switzerland.
He holds Honorary Professorships in London, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Lead Adviser of the WHO Clean Care is Safe Care & African Partnerships for Patient Safety programmes. Recipient of several national and international honours including a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) awarded by Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth II for services to the prevention of healthcare-associated infection in the UK (2007).
The book “Clean Hands Save Lives” (by T. Crouzet, 2014), available in 18 languages (2015), and the movie “Clean Hands” (Aftermedia 2016), describe Didier Pittet medical odyssey to promote patient safety worldwide. He is Certified board in Infection Control (USA). Emine Alp Mese, is Professor of Medicine, Deputy Health Minister at Republic of Turkey, Ministry of Health. Mese completed her specialization training in medicine at Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in 2002 and became an Infectious Diseases Specialist. She earned the title of Assistant Professor in 2004, Associate Professor in 2006 and Professor in 2011. She completed her post-doctoral researches in The Netherlands in 2010.
She made various studies in the field of hospital infections and infection control. She lectured about central nervous system diseases, gastroenteritis, HIV/AIDS and pneumonia. She is especiallay interested on Hospital acquired infections and infection control and Sepsis. She has got a lot of research in these field of: Acinetobacter epidemiology and colonisation in intensive care units, methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus epidemiology and colonisation in intensive care units, Urinary tract infections in intensive care units, Two treatment regimes in spinal brucellosis, Genotyping analysis of MRSA, Genotyping analysis of Acinetobacter baumannii and Experimental Animal Researches about the treatment regimens in MDR A.baumannii.
She worked as Infection Diseases Specialist at Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Department as of 2002. She worked as Deputy Chief Physician between 2010- 2016, Dean between 2016-2018 and appointed as Deputy Rector in 2018.
Professor Mese is co-author of more than 240 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
She is a member of European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Turkish Society of Hospital Infections and Control, Turkish Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and Turkey Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Specialist Association.

Ms. Ermira Tartari RN, MSc., is a Research Fellow in the Department of Infection Prevention and Control & WHO Collaborating Centre on Patient Safety at the University of Geneva Hospitals, Faculty of Medicine, with a particular interest in Hand Hygiene.
Ermira is a PhD candidate in Global Health (Biomedical Sicences) at the University of Geneva, conducting research in collaboration with the Infection Prevention and Control Global Unit at WHO, Geneva focusing on Global burden of healthcare-associated infections: impact of the WHO Clean Care is Safe Care programme worldwide.
Ermira is an Academic at the faculty of Health Science, University of Malta and has previously worked as an infection control practitioner where she has lead many infection prevention and control initiatives including the Hand Hygiene Excellence Award (2015). She serves as a Board Member of the Global Alliance for Infection Prevention and Control.

Yusuf Z. Menceloğlu is a Professor of Materials Science and Nanoengineering program, at Sabanci University. Prof. Menceloglu received the B.Sc degree in Chemistry from Karadeniz Technical University, Trabzon, Turkey, in 1983, and the MSc. and Ph.D. in Polymer Science from Istanbul Technical University 1987 and 1991, respectively. He worked as visiting scientist at Tokyo Institute of Technology and University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, between 1988 and 1994, then, he moved to industry and served there six years before joining the Sabanci University.
Dr. Menceloglu has been working in polymer science since 1984 and in nanoscience and nanotechnology since 1991. Dr. Menceloğlu is author or co-author of more than 100 peer-reviewed papers/proceedings and several book chapters on polymers and nanosize materials. Inventor and co-inventor of 21 patents listed in Derwent Innovations Index. Dr. Menceloğlu has diverse research experience in polymers, composites, and reactions/processing in liquid/supercritical carbon dioxide. Dr. Menceloğlu has taught courses in polymeric materials, textile fibers and polymer science. He is a founder and partner of technology-based startup companies.
